THE OFFICIAL LIGHTING OF CHRISTMAS TOWN USA
McAdenville, “Christmas Town USA” will hold it’s annual lighting ceremony on December 1, 2009The ceremony takes place at the McAdenville Community Center starting at 4:00 pm. The "big" switch is pulled about 5:15 pm to start another Christmas Town USA season. The lights glow nightly through December 26.

STATESVILLE TREE LIGHTING
December 1, 2009 6:30-8:30 PM at the Statesville Civic Center--Kick off the holiday season with your family at this free event. Shop vendors, sample holiday snacks and hot drinks, whisper your wish list in Santa's ear, listen to holiday music and let the kids play games. A great way to get in the mood!

CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK
Conover’s annual Christmas in the Park will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 6:30 at the Downtown park. Festivities will include Christmas carols performed by children from Shuford and Lyle Creek Elementary Schools, lighting of the tree, free hot cider and coffee with a special appearance by Santa!

ALEXANDER COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CHRISTMAS PARADE
The annual Christmas parade sponsored by the Alexander County Chamber of Commerce will be held in downtown Taylorsville, NC, on Saturday, December 5 at 3:00.

HICKORY HOLIDAY PARADE
The Hickory Jaycees will sponsor the Hickory Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 5, at 4:00 p.m. The parade route travels through downtown Hickory. Entry forms for the parade may be found on line at http://www.hickoryjc.org/.

CHRISTMAS IN DENVER
The East Lincoln Betterment Association and Lincoln County are sponsoring a Denver community Christmas event, including a first ever Denver Christmas Parade and a community wide Christmas Tree Lighting. The event is scheduled for Saturday December 5, 2009.

NC SYMPHONY HOLIDAY CONCERT
The NC Symphony Holiday Concert will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 7 PM at the Statesville Civic Center.

A DOWNTOWN HICKORY HOLIDAY!
Hickory’s Downtown Development Association will host A Downtown Hickory Holiday! on Thursday, December 10, from 5:30p.m. - 7:30 p.m. throughout downtown. The festivities will feature wagon rides, musicians, great holiday sales in downtown stores, carolers, Santa, and more.

STATESVILLE CHRISTMAS PARADE
Sunday, December 13, 2009--The 30th Masonic District is sponsoring the 2009 Christmas Parade through Downtown Statesville. The route will start on South Center Street (at Bell Street) and proceed north to Statesville High School. Floats, bands, antique cars, beauty queens and lots of holiday spirit. FREE and great fun for the entire family.
